Ketamine infusion treatments are administered under the supervision of one of the country’s most experienced ketamine health providers in a relaxing and safe setting.
Over the past 20 years, ketamine, initially used as a highly effective anesthetic, has demonstrated powerful antidepressant effects and benefits to other mental health conditions. What was once used as a sedative on the battlefield has become an invaluable resource for various physical and mental issues, known for its transformative power and speedy results.
Traditional medications like antidepressants can take months to start working. Ketamine therapy, on the other hand, offers patients relief quickly, with some individuals reporting relief within a few hours of their first infusion session.
Your first appointment will begin with a consultation with Dr. Hansen or another physician in one of our affiliated offices. The doctor will speak with you to further assess your mental and physical health history, and we’ll spend as much time as necessary to answer any questions you may have. The initial dose will be based mostly on your weight with minor adjustments for your age and physical condition. Subsequent doses may be adjusted depending on your response to the initial infusion. The infusion will last approximately 60 minutes for depression, PTSD, and bi-polar depression patients, and for patients suffering from other treatable mood disorders. Patients undergoing treatment for Neuropathic Pain have a longer infusion process and will be discussed with the Doctor during your consultation.
When you arrive for your infusion, you will be brought to a comfortable, private treatment room. Feel free to stay in your street clothes throughout the process. Family members or friends are welcome to stay in the room with you if you so choose.

Dr. Hansen and the staff have all been incredibly kind and supportive. The treatment has been life changing for me in a way that I didn’t think was possible after years of dealing with depression. I had tried virtually everything before finding ketamine as a treatment option. Ketamine infusions are by far the most effective treatment for depression that I’ve ever experienced and the Albany Ketamine Infusion Center does them in a comfortable and supportive environment. Dr. Hansen has a reassuring presence, but he also has extensive knowledge and has been able to answer any questions that I’ve had.
The most important factor when choosing a Ketamine provider is experience and the doctor’s commitment to providing safe, compassionate care.
Ketamine infusion therapy is a relatively new breakthrough in depression and chronic pain treatment, and you will need a doctor who thoroughly understands the procedure, practices with care and integrity, and has a long track record of successful outcomes.
